NEWCASTLE on 3 Gayest Surfing Movies List!
Here’s what Queerty.com had to say about NEWCASTLE in their recent “3 Gayest Surfing Movies Ever” showcase!
WHY’S IT SO GAY, BRO?: The film’s been called “a pilot for Boy Baywatch” and noted for its “startling amount of skin.” Indeed, director Dan Castle has his boys surfing naked with lots of butt shots (unsurprising considering that Castle’s past films include a documentary about about male cage-dancers in gay Mexico City nightclubs). Matt Ravler with In Film Australia said, “the lean, often naked teenage boys are as longingly photographed as the 10-foot waves.”

Guinevere Turner “Hearts” Wolfe at AfterEllen.com
AfterEllen.com spoke to Guinevere Turner (pictured above with Wolfe founder Kathy Wolfe) at the recent Wolfe 25th Anniversary Party about all her latest activities as well as how much she loves Wolfe Video!
“Wolfe Video is huge. I don’t think that 75 percent of the films that are out there would be seen if it wasn’t for Wolfe. And if it doesn’t get on TV, and people can’t get to film festivals, you actually get to see it because you can get it online. I make short films and the fact that there’s a go-to distributor for gay and lesbian films is totally fabulous. They’re always keeping in touch with me with what I’m doing, so I know there’s always a place.”

Stop Online Piracy of Lesbian Movies — Says Cherry Grrl
In a recent Editorial piece, the editor-in-chief of lesbian website CherryGrrl issued this plea to lesbian movie lovers:
“Because of the ease of use with web forums for sharing media, many well-intentioned movie fans have decided to help spread the word about a movie that they liked by uploading it for all to see. Unfortunately, this free access decreases the amount of funding that goes back to the filmmaker and puts them in a position where they can no longer produce new content. So, in the end, that same girl who loved a movie so much that she just had to show others how great it was is preventing herself from enjoying more films just like it in the future.
For many, this may seem really obvious – don’t take something that you don’t own and share it with others. Additionally, don’t watch these uploads because in doing so you are contributing to a growing problem. Keep it simple: visit www.wolfevideo.com and browse through their extensive collection of amazing DVDs and enjoy your very own copies.”
