L Word Chart

Showtime announced last week that L Word creator Ilene Chaiken is in the process of developing a spin-off of the popular lesbian show. One character will be the jumping off point for the show. Remember Maude spinning off from All In The Family? Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. was a spin-off from The Andy Griffith Show. And Buffy The Vampire Slayer begat Angel. Which of your favorite L Word characters will find new life in their own fresh plot of TV Land?

Who will it be: Shane, Alice, Bette, Tina, Jenny, Kit, Papi, Helena, Max, Tasha, Dana, Dawn Denbo or maybe Gaby Deveaux?

Pick your girl! Post a comment below and suggest a plot line in 50 words or so. We’ll select our personal completely subjective favorite and send you an L Word t-shirt!

My vote is for Bette , She and the baby leave town after the traggic death of tina and must move to start over. Finding a new love and new position.

Has to be Shane…There is so much to this person…you can have such a worldwind of rolls and stories to play out with her…Her past, present and hopefully a great future could prove to be both inviting and entertaining..
She has to be the one to go on to much bigger things..

I want to see Alice (Leisha Hailey) and Dana (Erin Daniels) in a spinoff, entitled “My Ex, the Car.” Dana’s ghost rejoins Alice as the little voice inside her new pert little red VW bug. At first Alice assumes it’s some weird kind of GPS, and boy does she get taken for a ride. All the way to Pittsburgh. Shenanigans ensue!

I THINK TASHA. THAT WOULD OPEN A WHOLE NEW SET OF PEOPLE AND ADD MORE WOMEN OF COLOR TO AN OTHERWISE VANILLA SHOW. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT SHE WILL DO NOW THAT SHE’S NO LONGER IN THE MILITARY AND ADD MORE BLACK AND LATINAS THAT SEEM TO BE ALMOST INVISIBLE IN THE GAY/LESBIAN COMMUNITY.

Although I wouild love for it to be Bette (Jennifer Beals) I think it’s probably going to be Alice (Leisha Hailey) I think her character is the only stand one that could work without the others involved. (Bette and Tina are a package deal).

In “Taking My Bite” Alice starts working at a big radio station in New York, and explores all that the Big Apple has to offer. We’ll get all the fun and drama from the ‘Our Chart’-creator as she enters a whole new world of strong women and gorgeous men.

Dawn Denbo would be the best choice! She came on the show as a very powerful player, one that holds your attention. I could see a new town, club, women. May not be a bar, could possibly be a gym or hotel resort, womens golf/tennis circut set in Florida.

I think it will be Alice. Her character is always exploring something new. She is still considered a bisexual too, so they could have her playing both sides of the field.

For sure Shane or Alice would be great and interesting Characters to start a Spinoff show – but they are both too important for the L-Word.
I think Dawn Denbo would be the best choice without weakening the L-Word. Dawn Denbo as a powerful and often also corrupt lesbian club owner is the perfect character to gather an interesting group of characters around her who have to deal with love, sex, drugs and rock and roll – and not to forget: THE LESBIAN DRAMA. This also could offer possibilities to link the two shows.
After Helena has bought the SHE BAR Dawn Denbo is on the ground. Run down and out of money she incidentely meets an the young, handsome gay club owner, Sebastian who used to work on a few gay-events Dawn Denbo launched. He now owns his on little club and he helps her starting over again. They become friends and work together organizing L.A.s (or every other place) gay club scene.

I’m thinking Kit. Some how she ends up owning an all women resort. At some point she is joined by another LWord character (maybe Alice). She has key staff that return every week and different quest that visit every week. Maybe every once in a while, a LWord character could visit.

Alice moves to Chicago and adapts to the snow and cold and the “midwestern” lesbians. Alice is the best choice as she has had the most depth to her character since the show began, showing a variety of personas and staying likeable, even in her craziness. I also liked the idea of Dana’s ghost returning as Alice’s muse or something.

Dawn Denbo seems to be the right choice here. She is hot and did a commanding preformance when she was on. I can see a show all about her with guest appearances of well knowns (Ellen, KD, Martina, Lindsey & Sam) at her new resort. Plus L Word guests, Bette & Tina together even Cindy showing up. There would be a lot of behind the scenes drama from Dawn with sex, lies & cheating. Trials of a lesbian owned business coming to a mid sized town and building it into a fab-got to be a member club. With all the city big wigs scretly joining and coming out one by one! The whole town is now turning into Lesbianville and…….

Shane would be the best choice throughout the Season we see her change in front of our eyes we see her heart open up and show its true self. I think people can be harsh towards Shane and she was never really given a chance to explore her career and a true partner. Shane’s Spinoff should have her dating wo’s as she attempts to lets loose of her player ways and settle down if possible.

Helena should be the center of a spinoff. She just left L-word last season to venture off on her own. The new show could pick up from there with a completely different set of characters in a completely different setting. I definately think it should NOT be Shane. I (and everyone I know who watches the show, even the former Shane-lovers)am so tired of Shane and her overly predictable ways. Will she ever change and grow as a person? Obviously not.
