“One of my favorite LGBT movies is...”
“As an image-starved, closeted preteen, the kiss between Jodie Foster and Nastassja Kinski in Hotel New Hampshire was my favorite lesbian “sex scene” in cinema. The two partially obscured by artsy shadows, I didn’t feel guilty that I watched it enough to get tape drop out in that section of the VHS.
Favorite movie overall was Go Fish. It was self-produced on a shoe-string budget and out lesbians ran the show in front and behind the camera. It was the first LGBT movie I saw that was a comedy. The main character arcs didn’t involve coming out or death. I caught it at the Angelika Film Center in NYC and hearing the audience laugh and cheer at all the jokes only a lesbian would understand made me feel the times were a-changing.”
