Jamie Babbitt (director, ITTY BITTY TITTY COMMITTEE)
“I love HEAVENLY CREATURES. Melanie Lynsky and Kate Winslet capture so well that adolescent girl crush that becomes so all consuming. Amazing film and Peter Jackson is an incredible director. Other favorites: GO FISH — a classic; SHOW ME LOVE — love the way it’s shot and the girls are amazing; MY SUMMER OF LOVE — Emily Blunt is unbelievable; Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN — homoerotic if not homo.”

Eva Green in lesbian boarding school drama
Yee-ha! Looks like the ever-popular LOVING ANNABELLE will soon have some competition in the lesbian schoolgirl melodrama category!
Variety reports that action helmer Ridley Scott‘s daughter, Jordan Scott is currently in production on her directorial debut, a British girls’ boarding school period drama starring sexpot actress Eva Green (be still my beating heart and keep me from falling over onto the floor) as a “charismatic teacher.” The film is called CRACKS and Miss Scott describes it thusly:
“It’s about misguided love and obsession, as told through the eyes of a group of elite girls in this boarding school.”
Scott is lucky to have queer producer extraordinaire Christine Vachon on board as part of the producing team, along with a variety of other industry vets. Look for a 2009 release.

Checkout the brand new trailer for the upcoming Miramax feature adaptation of BRIDESHEAD REVISITED. As we reported here about a year ago, the Julian Jarrold helmed revisitation of the famous Evelyn Waugh novel stars Matthew Goode (Match Point) as Charles Ryder and Ben Whishaw as Sebastian (we can only hope that the chemistry between them is as convincing as it was in the original Masterpiece Theater version with Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews). Hayley Atwill co-stars as Sebastian’s sister Julia. With Emma Thompson as Lady Marchmain! No release date yet but look for a wide release coming soon.
