“The queer movie that had the greatest influence on me was THE TIMES OF HARVEY MILK, about the double-murder of the Mayor and a city counselor in San Francisco… not as a filmmaker, but as a person. I was too young to see Rob Epstein‘s documentary when it was made in 1983, but ten years later on video it was a wrenching, eye opening snapshot of gay peoples’ ever-evolving position in America. The film was made with so much love, and so much rage. It’s a film that makes it feel okay to go try and smash the windows of city hall, and I found it motivating. Kids coming of age today, who weren’t even born when Harvey Milk was alive, should absolutely see that film.”

“The most delicious lesbian scene in a film ever, for me, was in BOUND, when Gina Gershon fixes Jennifer Tilly‘s plumbing. Hot, hot, hot. The whole movie is just great, and not to be missed. Being a big tranny lover, I adore HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH. A visually stimulating, poetic, innovate work of art with a brilliant performance by John Cameron Mitchell. It s one of those rare films that gets better and better each time you watch it.” Click here to find out more about Annie Sprinkle, Ph.D. -Director and star of Annie Sprinkle’s Herstory of Porn, Annie Sprinkle’s Amazing World of Orgasm and the First F2M Transsexual Love Story.

“My favorite LGBT movie is BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN. When I love a movie, I usually go back to it several times, but BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN affected me so deeply I couldn’t see it again–I had stuff to do in my life! That movie just outright broke my back emotionally. It laid me out on the couch for days. Heath Ledger is Wyoming (vast, deep, beautiful, hard, miserly of expression…)–this gay Iowa farm boy gives him the thumbs up.
